The new SPIEL stage: The central meeting point for talks, entertainment, and exchange in Hall 4

At SPIEL Essen 2025, a very special highlight awaits you in Hall 4: our new stage area. We're giving the entire diversity of the gaming world an exclusive place right in the middle of the action. The centerpiece is the modern stage, where exciting talks, captivating events, fun rounds, and outstanding prizes will be celebrated every day. And you can simply be there—no appointment, no special ticket, just come to Hall 4 and take a seat!

The new stage area will offer space for around 500 people on approximately 1,000 square meters, because we have big plans. We are moving our entire supporting program right among the players, directly into the hall. And because we know that you might not be able or want to follow the action on the stage while you are playing, we have designed the sound technology so that everyone in the stage area can follow the program well, but in the hall itself, you won't hear much of it—except that it looks awesome with the big screens and modern design.

The range of topics is broad and illuminates the world of board games from every conceivable angle: whether as entertainment, in the field of education, as a driver for the economy, or as an important factor for the community. And all of this is open to everyone who is there.

This means that the Educators Day on Friday will be accessible to everyone, and you can all cheer on the great artists of the Golden Demon at the award ceremony on Sunday. Also, look forward to an impressive lineup of international speakers from leading publishers and institutions on Thursday and Saturday, as well as numerous experts and personalities from the German gaming industry. And, of course, we are also involving Mháire, who will be presenting highlights to watch and also to participate in on almost all days.

On Thursday, the stage area will also be used to hand out our loot bags, as we expect many people to come and collect their bags on that day. Thanks to the large space available, we will be able to serve everyone who can't wait to get their hands on their loot bag without any congestion or stress.
